Overview:

This opportunity will provide new Special Educators an opportunity to be facilitated through an inquiry cycle by a trained Special Education Coach to develop a self-directed goal and learning plan.

 

Pre-requisites to be a Coach:

  1. Complete the 4-day Special Education Coaching training during the school year.. These trainings will be spread throughout the school year.

  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Special Educator

  3. Clear mild/moderate credential, moderate/severe credential, speech pathology certification or pupil personnel services credential

 

Requirement:

  1. Coaches who are selected will be assigned one individual to coach through a coaching cycle for the 2021-2022 school year.

  2. All coaches must submit the Coaching Log linked below to Angie Falk, Director of Pupil Services, by the end of the school year.

 

Compensation:

  1. 19.5 hours of Paid Professional Development for completing the Special Education Coaching Training. These trainings must take place outside of work hours in order to receive PD hours.

  2. All individuals coached will receive 19.5 hours of Paid Professional Development time. There will be up to 7 Special Ed teachers, 1 speech pathologist and 1 psychologist selected as coaches.

  3. Receive a Stipend of:

    • $657 for supporting one educator with 19.5 hours of Cognitive Coaching during 21-22. 

    • $998 for supporting two educators with 19.5 hours each of Cognitive Coaching during 21-22. 

    • $1733 for supporting three educators with 19.5 hours each of Cognitive Coaching during 21-22.
