Preliminary Administrative Services Credential

(PASC) Program 

Program Overview

The Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (PASC) Program is a one-year program designed for aspiring school administrators or teachers who want to expand their leadership capacity. Candidates participate in coursework and fieldwork that allow them to learn about the elements of effective leadership in the context of the California Administrator Performance Expectations.

Eligibility

What's Required

In order to be eligible for the PASC Program,  you must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a valid preliminary teaching or PPS credential

  • Have completed a minimum of four years of verified equivalent of full-time employment on a valid credential

  • Be employed in a position requiring a valid California credential

Application Process

How To Apply

All candidates are required to submit a completed application packet. 

Application packets must include:

  1. PASC Program Application

  2. Official transcript for university coursework

  3. A copy of your current California credential(s)

  4. Three current letters of recommendation that speak to your potential as an administrator

  5. Verification of Experience An official letter from your current employer verifying that you have completed a minimum of four years of full-time experience on an active California credential. 

Coursework Details

  • Adhere to attendance policy

  • Complete all program coursework:

    • ED850: Leveraging Organizational Change in School Systems

    • ED851: Theories of Leadership: Equity and Access
    • ED852: Leadership in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment

    • ED8353: Personnel Leadership

    • ED854: School Law, Policy and Management

    • ED855: Fieldwork Practicum and Performance Assessment (CalAPA)

      • Candidates are required to complete 60 hours of fieldwork throughout the course of the year.​

    • ED856: Innovative Practices for Advancing Public Education​

Costs

How We Can Help

The total cost for the PASC program is $7,500 which includes tuition, books, materials and covers the cost of your Fieldwork Supervisor. 

Candidates who begin the PASC program after May 31, 2019 will be required to complete and submit all three cycles of the CalAPA before being recommended for a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential. The CalAPA costs approximately $450.00 which is paid directly to Pearson. For more information, please click here

Center EdX offers a tuition payment plan so that individuals can spread their tuition payments over the course of the 12-month program.
